Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union announced the signings Saturday of former trialists Aaron Wheeler and Damani Richards, according to the Daily News of Delaware County, PA.
Wheeler, a forward, was on trial with Philadelphia in 2011 before joining FC KooTeePee, a second division team in Finland.
He played collegiately at NCAA Division II Lenoir-Rhyne, where he scored 25 goals over three seasons.
Wheeler then played for numerous lower division teams, including the USL Premier Development League's Reading Rage (now called Reading United), where he led the league in goals with 17.
He also tried out for the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2009 when they played in USL First Division.
Richards, a defender from Trinidad & Tobago, spent ten days with the Union in October 2012 and played for his country's U-17 and U-20 national teams.
