Timbers Signs PDL Championship Player Evans

Major League Soccer's Portland Timbers announced Tuesday they have signed Steven Evans, who led the franchise's U-23 team to the 2010 USL Premier Development League title and an undefeated season, to a Homegrown Player contract.

He played for the Timbers U-23 team from 2009 to 2012.

In 2012, he had four goals and an assist in 17 games for them, was named the team's Player of the Year, and led them to the USL PDL Western Conference semifinal round.

Over three seasons at the University of Portland, among his many accomplishments, he scored 24 goals and 12 assists.
