The Major Indoor Soccer League announced Tuesday Chicago Soul goalkeeper Jeff Richey, who set a new league single-game record for saves with 45 in an 11-0 shutout of the Syracuse Silver Knights last Friday, was named the league's Player of the Week for the tenth week of the 2012-13 season.
He broke the previous record of Norfolk SharX goalkeeper Jamie Lieberman, who had 28 saves in a win over the Silver Knights last season.
Chicago's win was also the first shutout in the league since 2001.
