McIntosh Named Silverbacks Assistant Coach, Reunites With Haynes

The Atlanta Silverbacks of the North American Soccer League announced Tuesday Franklin McIntosh has joined the team as assistant coach on head coach's Brian Haynes' staff.

McIntosh, a native of West Bromwich, England, played collegiately at New York Institute of Technology and was drafted by the Major Indoor Soccer League's Baltimore Blast.

He played for the indoor Harrisburg Heat, St. Louis Ambush and Atlanta Attack, as well as for the Orlando Lions and the Real Colorado Foxes in United Soccer Leagues.

McIntosh and Haynes were teammates at the Attack and the Lions and, when Haynes became the true head coach of the Silverbacks in August 2012, he asked McIntosh to attend training camps and evaluate players.

McIntosh also represented the US in the 1997 Futsal World Cup in Spain and the 1997 World Championships in Brazil.
