Indianapolis Approved To Join NASL In 2014

Already playing host to this year's National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention, which will also feature the Major League Soccer SuperDraft and the first college draft for the new National Women's Soccer League, the North American Soccer League announced their Board of Governors, meeting in advance of their Annual General Meeting there Thursday and Friday, have awarded a 2014 expansion franchise to the city.

The team will be owned solely by Keystone Construction Corporation president and CEO Ersal Ozdemir, who has already hired current consultant Peter Wilt as general manager, and will reportedly play home games at Michael Carroll Stadium on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis until they meet their long-term goal of building a downtown stadium.

Fans can submit their ideas for team names to www.IndyProSoccer.com.
