Earthquakes Forward Chavez Could Miss Playing Against USMNT In February

Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes defender Martin Chavez could miss playing against the US Men's National Team in their CONCACAF Hexagonal Round World Cup Qualifying gane in his native San Pedro Sula, Honduras after suffering a knee-to-knee collision with fellow Honduran national team member Bryan Beckeles, according to the team Wednesday.

He will definitely be out for Honduras' run at the Copa Centroamericana tournament that determines who represents Central America at this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament.

In 2012, Chavez had three goals and a career-high 13 assists as he led San Jose to their first MLS Supporters Shield title since 2005.
