DC United Signs 16-Year-Old As Homegrown Player

Major League Soccer's DC United announced the signing Monday of 16-year-old forward Michael Seaton as their fifth Homegrown Player on their roster.

Seaton started seven of nine games for the team's youth academy this season, scoring three goals, and played all 90 minutes of United's final MLS Reserve League season game October 21 against the Columbus Crew.

Seaton, who has US and Jamaican citizenship and has played on Jamaica's U-17 national team, was the leading scorer on United's U-15 Pre-Academy team with 12 goals and the co-leading scorer on their U-16 team (14 goals) that advanced to a final eight playoff finish.
