Greg Crook had a hat trick and a pair of assists to lead the host Illinois Piasa to a 10-4 victory over the Ohio Vortex Saturday in Professional Arena Soccer League play at The Sports Academy in Glen Carbon, IL
Chris Mattingly added a brace and an assist and Jon Fridal also scored twice as the Piasa are now 3-9 and in fourth place in the Eastern Division, seven games behind the division-leading Detroit Waza (10-2). The Piasa travel next Saturday to the Harrisburg Heat,
Ryan McClay led the Vortex with two goals.
Ohio is in last place in the league at 1-10, 8 1/2 games behind Detroit. The Vortex face the Cincinnati Kings on the road Sunday.
