Keith Tozer, head coach of the 2011-12 Major Indoor Soccer League champion Milwaukee Wave and current head coach of the US Futsal National Team, announced an 18-man roster Thursday for a training camp running Sunday through April 7 in Torrance, CA ahead of a CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament July 2-8 in Guatemala to compete in the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Thailand.
The US team has won two CONCACAF Qualifying Tournaments in 1996 and 2004 and reached the Futsal World Cup in 2008 but were eliminated in group stage play.
12 of the 18 players recently completed MISL seasons and nine played in last October's Grand Prix of Futsal in Manaus, Brazil, with four of them -- Kraig Chiles, Jeff Hughes, Lucas Stauffer and Matthew Stewart -- scoring goals in that tournament.
