Head coach Caleb Porter Tuesday announced his final 20-man U-23 Men's National Team roster that will compete in the 2012 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament with the goal of making it to the April 2 championship game at Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City, KS and be one of the two teams to represent the confederation at the upcoming London Olympics.
The US, as host, were drawn to Group A in the eight-team tournament and will face Cuba (Thursday), Canada (Saturday) and El Salvador (next Monday) in group play games at LP Field in Nashville, TN.
Group B, whose games will take place Friday, Sunday and next Tuesday at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, will feature Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Trinidad & Tobago.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the tournament semifinals March 31 at Livestrong, with the Group A winner facing the Group B runner-up and vice versa, with those winners making the championship game.
14 of the 20 players selected for the US team come from Major League Soccer franchises.
