Dynamo Star Clark Facing Possible Disciplinary Action Over Slur To Ball Boy

Major League Soccer may soon levy disciplinary action against Houston Dynamo player Colin Clark after he was heard uttering a homophobic slur to a ball boy in the seventh minute of Friday's night game against the host Seattle Sounders, a 2-0 loss that was nationally televised by NBC Sports Network.

Microphones on the field picked up the use of the slur after Clark felt the ball boy took too long responding to his request for a new ball for a throw-in. He would pick the ball up on his own, make the offensive comment to the boy, then threw the new ball in himself.

The team was made aware of the issue and stands behind their concern that Clark did apologize to them for the indiscretion.

Clark also posted an apology on his Twitter at 3 a.m. Eastern time Saturday, saying, in part, "It's not who I am and it won't happen again."
