Red Bulls Re-Sign Lindpere To Multi-Year Deal

Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls announced Tuesday they have re-signed midfielder Joel Lindpere to a multi-year deal.

Lindpere, who joined the team in March 2010 from Norway's Tromso, set team records last season for games started (all 34) and minutes played (3,048), scored seven goals and seven assists in regular season play and scored two goals in the postseason.

In 2010, he led the team in assists with six, was named their Most Valuable Player, and was named a finalist for MLS Newcomer of the Year.

The native of Estonia played for teams in his country (FC Flora Tallinn, FC Valga, JK Nommie Kalju and Lelle SK) and in Bulgaria for CSKA Sofia.

He has scored six goals in 76 appearances for Estonia's national team.
