With the exercising of a 2012 contract option Tuesday, Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union completed a transfer from Colombia's America de Cali for the rights to midfielder Roger Torres, who was loaned to the Union for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
In 46 games with the Union, 19 of which he started, he has scored three goals, all coming in 2011, and eight assists.
He started 15 games with Cali in 2009 after spending the 2008 season with Colombian first division "B" team Alianza Petrolea.
