Blast Slip Past Lancers At First Mariner Arena

Carlos Garcia, Mike Deasel, Machel Millwood and Mike Lookingland each had two-point goals Saturday to lead the Major Indoor Soccer League's Baltimore Blast to an 8-7 victory over the Rochester Lancers at First Mariner Arena in Baltimore in a battle of the top two Eastern Division teams.

Carlos "Chile" Farias had the game's only three-point goal for the Lancers and saw Ljubomic Kocic and Jake Schindler put up two-point goals in the loss.

With seven regular season games, the Blast led the division at 13-4 and host the Norfolk SharX Wednesday, then travel to meet the league's best team, the Central Division-leading Milwaukee Wave, next Saturday.

The Lancers are on the verge of being eliminated from playoff contention at 7-10, six behind the Blast. Rochester meets the SharX Sunday, then takes on the Wichita Wings next Saturday at Hartman Arena in Wichita, KS.
