New Downtown Stadium For Dynamo Gets Name

The new downtown stadium for Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo will be called BBVA Compass Stadium, according to a report by Houston's FOX affiliate Tuesday, with a news conference set for Wednesday afternoon.

The naming rights deal is reportedly worth $20 million over ten years.

Groundbreaking for the stadium, to replace using University of Houston's Robertson Stadium, where the team moved after changing their name from the original San Jose Earthquakes in 2007, took place in February of this year and the stadium will open officially May 12, 2012.
