After a three-year-long legal battle, the Tampa Bay Rowdies will finally return to professional soccer in the 2012 North American Soccer League season after the current team, called FC Tampa Bay and owned by Citrus Sports Group, LLC, won the rights to their original name back from Dallas-based retro sports apparel company Classic Ink.
The Rowdies will unveil their new logo Thursday, which will see the current shield logo dropped for a more retro style consistent with the name Rowdies fans have always loved.
