Aaron Galindo and Jesus Escobaza scored goals 12 minutes apart Wednesday as host Santos Laguna of Mexico played Major League Soccer's defending champion Colorado Rapids to a 2-0 shutout to win Group B in the 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League tournament with a 4-1-1 record and 13 points and earned a spot in the Knockout Phase, to begin early next year.
The Rapids are in second place in the group pool at 2-3-1 with seven points and, if Isidro Metapan of El Salvador and Spain's Real Espana play to any draw Wednesday, they will move to the Knockout Phase; if not, the game's winner will take over second place.
