Koevermans Header Gives Toronto FC Win Ove Tauro in CCL Play

Forward Danny Koevermans, Major League Soccer's current Player of the Week, definitely earned Player of the Night status from Toronto FC as his 40th minute header was the only goal scored in a 1-0 victory over Panama's Tauro in the fourth game of Group C play in the 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League tournament Tuesday at BMO Field in Toronto.

Toronto is in second place in the group standings at 2-2-0 with six points, but is two points behind fellow MLS franchise FC Dallas (2-0-1, seven) for first place. Toronto next hosts Mexico's Pumas UNAM next Tuesday.

Tauro is in last place at 0-2-2 with two points and will host Dallas next Wednesday.

The top two teams in this group after six games will join the top two teams from the other three pools in the tournament's knockout phase.
