Michael Farfan scored the unassisted game-winning goal in the 57th minute and earlier assisted on the second of two goals by Sebastien Le Toux in the 15th minute as the host Philadelphia Union edged DC United 3-2 in Major League Soccer play Thursday from PPL Park in Chester, PA.
Le Toux scored unassisted for the Union in the fourth minute to open the action as the Union improved to 10-7-13 with 43 points, putting them in second place in the Eastern Conference standings, two points behind Sporting Kansas City (11-9-11, 44) for the lead. Philadelphia travels to the West Coast Sunday to meet Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.
United tied the game at 2-2 as Austin Da Luz assisted Dwayne De Rosario on an 21st minute strike and Andy Najar converted an unassisted play in the 30th minute. DC is in sixth place in the Eastern standings at 9-9-11 with 38 points and are two points behind the New York Red Bulls (8-7-15, 39 points) for fifth place. United takes on the Columbus Crew Sunday at Crew Stadium.
