Diego Chaves scored goals off a penalty kick in the 25th minute and then unassisted two minutes later as the Central/Mountain Division-leading Chicago Fire edged FC Dallas 3-2 Tuesday in Major League Soccer Reserve League play at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX.
FC Dallas cut the lead to one at 2-1 in the 31st minute as Jair Benitez connected with Bryan Leyva on a goal, but it was the closest they would get.
Orr Barouch ended the scoring for the Fire in the 69th minute off a Kellen Gulley pass, then Dallas' Andrew Wiederman found Daniel Garcia for the game's final goal in the 85th minute.
The Fire, at 6-1-1 with 19 points, travel to the Houston Dynamo for their next game October 1, but FC Dallas, in fourth place in the division at 3-3-0 with nine points, will host the Dynamo Sunday.
