Umony Leads Timbers Reserve To Shutout Of Earthquakes

Brian Umony had an unassisted goal in the 12th minute and assisted Bright Dike on a 58th minute goal as the visiting Portland Timbers shut out the host San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 Sunday in Major League Soccer Reserve League play at the Nutrilite Training Center in Santa Clara, CA.

The Timbers are 3-2-0 with nine points, putting them third in the West Division, two points behind the Earthquakes (3-3-1, 10) in the standings.

Both teams face the Vancouver Whitecaps next -- Portland hosting them at JELD-WEN Field August 21; San Jose traveling to British Columbia September 6.
