Major League Soccer's Toronto FC traded forward Maicon Santos and an international roster spot to FC Dallas Tuesday in exchange for midfielder Eric Avila.
Santos started 15 games this season for Toronto and was their leading scorer with six goals. In 51 career games, he has 12 goals and four assists.
Avila, who led Dallas in appearances last season with 18, had three goals and seven appearances in 63 career games, including a goal and two assists in 13 games this season.
