The Michigan Bucks, champions of the Central Conference's Great Lakes Division with a 12-2-2 record, saw three of their players take home awards at the 2011 USL Premier Development League Championship Banquet, held Friday in Bremerton, WA ahead of the league's Championship Weekend, taking place there Friday and Saturday.
Stewart Givens was named the league's Defender of the Year, Gary Parsons was named Coach of the Year and Mitch Hildebrandt was named Goalkeeper of the Year.
Givens had four goals and four assists for the Bucks, one of three PDL teams to allow a league-low nine goals scored against them, but the only one to surrender a goal at home.
Parsons, who has served as men's soccer head coach at Oakland University for 28 years, posting 27 winning seasons and sending the Golden Bears to 17 NCAA College Cup berths and seven Summit League championships while he tallied 363 wins and three Summit League Coach of the Year awards, was in his second season at the Bucks.
Hildebrandt led the league in shutouts with 12 and tied for the league lead in wins with 12.
Milton Blanco of the Fresno Fuego, who won the league's Points (38) and Assists (14) Championships this season, was named the PDL's Most Valuable Player.
Blanco has played professionally this season with the USL PRO's Harrisburg City Islanders and Major League Soccer's Chivas USA.
Jake Keegan, who won the Goal Scoring Championship with 16 goals in 16 games, scoring 64% of all the goals the Westchester Flames had this season, was named the PDL Rookie of the Year.
He also finished in third place in the Points race with 34.
