The expansion Rochester Lancers of the Major Indoor Soccer League announced Thursday veteran player and coach Billy Andracki will be the team's head coach and general manager and will be assisted on the field by Francisco "Poncho" Escos and Billy Ginther.
Andracki played collegiately at Mercer County Community College and Rutgers University.
At Mercer County, he led their team to the 1989 National Junior College Athletic Association national championship, was named an NJCAA First Team All-American the season before, and was named to the school's and NJCAA's Hall of Fame.
With the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, he led them to a runner-up finish at the 1990 NCAA national championship, losing to UCLA, but Andracki then was a third team All-American pick in 1991.
He played indoor soccer for the Milwaukee Wave, Cleveland Crunch, Tampa Bay Terror, Chicago Power, Philadelphia Kixx and the Buffalo Blizzard -- all in the National Professional Soccer League -- and outdoors for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the American Professional Soccer Lague, the Atlanta Magic in the United Systems of Interregional Soccer Leagues, the Atlanta Ruckus and the original Rochester Rhinos of the A-League, and the MetroStars and Miami Fusion in Major League Soccer.
Andracki has served the last six seasons as the goalkeeper coach for the USL PRO's Rochester Rhinos.
