Real Salt Lake Shuts Out Red Bulls

Nat Borchers, Luis Gil and Alvaro Saborio scored goals as host Real Salt Lake shut out the New York Red Bulls 3-0 in Major League Soccer play at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT Saturday.

RSL is 10-5-6 with 36 points and in fifth place in the Western Conference, two points behind the defending champion Colorado Rapids (9-6-10, 37) for fourth place, and travels to BMO Field next Saturday to face Toronto FC.

The Red Bulls, who began the season 4-1-2 but have gone 2-5-10 since, are 6-6-12 with 30 points and tied for third place in the Eastern Conference with Sporting Kansas City (7-7-9). New York hosts the Chicago Fire next Saturday at Red Bull Arena.
