Qunicy Amirikwa scored on a 13th minute penalty kick and Steven Emory added an unassisted 20th minute goal as the Colorado Rapids won their first Major League Soccer Reserve League game of the season in a 2-0 shutout of the Chicago Fire Sunday at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL.
The win also snapped the Fire's five-game unbeaten streak, but Chicago retains the top spot in the league's Central/Mountain Division at 4-1-1 with 13 points. Chicago hosts Real Salt Lake next Tuesday.
The Rapids are in fifth place in the division at 1-4-1 with four points and will host the Houston Dynamo Thursday.
