FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman, who started six games in the month and finished with a 3-1-2 record and four shutouts, was named Thursday the league's Player of the Month for July.
Hartman has already set a new club single-season record for shutouts in a season with his 12th that came in a 1-0 victory July 31 over Chivas USA and is five away from breaking the league's all-time single-season record in that category of 16, set by Tony Meola.
Hartman is the league's career shutout leader at 105 and the career postseason game shutout leader at 15.
