US Soccer announced Friday the location for the championship game in the 2010 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament October 4 will be hosted by one of the three Major League Soccer teams left in the field -- the Chicago Fire, FC Dallas or the two-time defending champion Seattle Sounders, depending on the results of semifinal play Tuesday.
In the semifinals, the Fire will host the Richmond Kickers of USL PRO at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL and the Sounders will host FC Dallas at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
If Seattle beats FC Dallas, no matter who wins the other game, the Sounders will host the final game.
If FC Dallas and Richmond win, Dallas will host at Pizza Hut Park.
If Chicago and FC Dallas win, the Fire will host the final game.
The Sounders are attempting to become the first team since the New York Pancyprian Freedoms (1982-84) to win the tournament three straight years. The first team to pull off the feat was the New York Greek Americans (1967-69).
