Macoumba Kandji scored two goals and assisted in Andre Akpan's game-winning goal as the defending Major League Soccer champion Colorado Rapids edged El Salvador's Isidro Metapan 3-2 Wednesday in a Group B 2011 CONCACAF Champions League game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO.
Allan Kardeck and Paulo Suarez scored goals for Metapan.
The Rapids return to MLS play Saturday when they host Chivas USA and newly-acquired forward Juan Pablo Angel, then hit the road to play Real Espana in CCL action Sunday.
