Independence Edge Sky Blue, Tie For WPS Lead With Flash Heading Into Final Weekend Of Regular Season

Lianne Sanderson's game-winning unassisted goal in second-half stoppage time gave the host Philadelphia Independence a 2-1 victory over Sky Blue FC at their 2011 home season finale in Women's Professional Soccer Sunday at Widener University and put them in a tie for the league lead with two matchdays left in the regular season.

Tasha Kai had an unassisted goal in the 17th for the Independence, which was countered seven minutes later by Sky's Eniola Aluko.

The Independence (11-3-3) is tied with the Western New York Flash (11-2-3) at 36 points with Philadelphia closing out the regular season next Sunday at Florida Atlantic University Field in a possible playoff preview against magicJack FC.

Sky Blue (5-8-4, 19) is in fourth place, the last spot available for a playoff berth this season, but needs to beat the Boston Breakers next Sunday at Harvard to claim the spot.
