Due to the projected path of Hurricane Irene along the east coast of the US, Major League Soccer Thursday announced three weekend games involving home teams in the area have been rescheduled.
DC United's game at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC against the Portland Timbers, which was to be played Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time, is tentatively scheduled to take place now at 2 p.m. Eastern time, but the league will make a final decision on the game time by noon Friday.
The Philadelphia Union, set to play the New England Revolution Sunday at 7 p.m. Eastern time from PPL Park in Chester, PA, had their game rescheduled for September 7 at the same time.
Finally, the New York Red Bulls' game against the Los Angeles Galaxy set for Sunday at 7 p.m. Eastern time from Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ, will now take place October 4 at the same time.
