Major League Soccer's best team, the Western Conference and possible Supporters Shield-winning Los Angeles Galaxy, got even better Monday with the announcement the team signed Irish forward and national team captain Robbie Keane to a reported two-year, $5.7 million deal to become a Designated Player.
Unfortunately, MLS teams are only allowed three such players on a roster, so the word is former New York Red Bulls forward Juan Pablo Angel could be on the trading block in order to make room for Keane.
Keane has scored 51 goals in 108 games for Ireland's national team and he had 107 goals in 254 games with Tottenham in the English Premier League between 2002 and 2008.
