Alvaro Fernandez scored a 41st minute goal with help from Leonardo Gonzalez and Fredy Montero, then worked with Mauro Rosales to assist Nate Jaqua on a 98th minute strike as the host Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer advanced to the field for the 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League with a 2-0 victory over El Salvador's San Francisco FC and a 2-1 aggregate series total at CenturyLink Field.
The Sounders will open the group phase of the competition in Group D and host the first game August 16 at CenturyLink against Guatemala's Comunicaciones, then heads to Mexico to face Monterrey in the second of six games August 23.
Before then, though, the Sounders return to MLS play Saturday at Sporting Kansas City's Livestrong Sporting Park.
