Dynamo's Dixon Extends Team's Unbeaten Streak To Five Games

Alex Dixon's goal in the final minute of regulation allowed the Houston Dynamo to defeat Real Salt Lake 3-2 Saturday in Major League Soccer play at Robertson Stadium and kept the 2009 MLS Cup champion's winless streak in games played in the state of Texas to 19 in a row.

Fabian Espindola opened the contest with a 28th minute goal for RSL, but Brian Ching countered with a goal in the 47th minute to tie things at 1-1.

Luis Gil put RSL back on top in the 60th minute, but the Dynamo would find a way to take charge again off a Bobby Boswell goal in the 69th minute before Dixon's strike.

The Dynamo, on a five-game unbeaten streak, are in second place in the Eastern Conference standings at 8-7-11 with 35 points, six behind the Columbus Crew for the regular season conference crown.

RSL, losers of four of their last five games, is 10-7-6 with 36 points and are fifth in the Western Conference standings. They will head to The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA next Saturday to face Chivas USA.
