Dynamo Makes Costly Move By Getting Honduran Forward On Loan From Atlas

Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo signed a deal Thursday with Atlas de Guadalajara to receive Honduran forward Carlo Costly on loan, but he will not become a Designated Player with the team.

Houston had been scouting him on several occasions before deciding to go after him, including a May 29 exhibition between the Honduran national team and El Salvador at Robertson Stadium, home to the Dynamo, and at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, where he scored a hat trick in a game.

He began his professional career with Platense in 2006, then played for teams in Poland, Romania and England before settling at Atlas.

In 48 games for his country's national team since debuting in 2007, he has scored 18 goals and he led them to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the first bid to the event since 1982.
