Cox Brace Leads FC Edmonton To Snap Eight-Game Losing Streak

Michael Cox's goals in the 71st and 76th minute were enough for host FC Edmonton to see their eight-game North American Soccer League losing streak end Sunday with a 3-0 victory over the worst team in the league, the Atlanta Silverbacks, at Foote Field in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Shawn Saiko scored first for Edmonton at the 63rd minute mark.

FC Edmonton is 8-9-5 with 29 points and is tied for fourth place in the single standings table with the NSC Minnesota Stars (7-7-8). Edmonton next plays two games -- one Saturday, the other next Tuesday -- at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium to face the Puerto Rico Islanders.

Atlanta has the league's worst mark at 3-16-3 with 12 points and will host the league's-best Carolina RailHawks Saturday.
