The Montreal Impact of the North American Soccer League announced the signing of English midfielder Ian Westlake for the rest of the 2011 season Friday.
Westlake, who has been on trial with the Impact since July 5, has played in over 200 games in his country's second and third division and becomes Montreal's fifth foreign player on the roster.
He could see his first action with Montreal as early as their Sunday home game at Saputo Stadium against the last-place Atlanta Silverbacks.
