Union Remains Best In Eastern Conference After Draw With United

Carlos Ruiz scored in the 84th minute with help from Sheanon Williams and Sebastien Le Toux as the Philadelphia Union maintained the best record in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference, despite playing to a 2-2 draw to DC United Saturday at RFK Stadium.

The Union's other goal came in the 49th minute on an own goal from DC's Perry Kitchen.

Andy Najar led United by teaming with Dwayne De Rosario to assist Josh Wolff on a 44th minute goal, then had an unassisted play in the 58th minute.

The Union are 7-4-6 with 27 points and will travel to the San Jose Earthquakes next Saturday.

DC United, at 4-5-7 with 19 points, is tied for fifth place with the Houston Dynamo (4-6-7) and will take on the New York Red Bulls next Saturday at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.
