Chris Tsonis was assisted by Alex Hassan on a 16th minute goal, then went unassisted in the 77th minute as the host New Hampshire Phantoms beat the Western Mass Pioneers 3-1 Saturday in USL Premier Development League play at Portsmouth High School.
Steve Palumbo had an unassisted 11th minute goal for New Hampshire and Brian Francolini assisted Alejandro Sucre on Western Mass' 28th minute scoring strike.
The Phantoms are in second place in the Eastern Conference's Northeast Division at 6-5-3 with 20 points, two behind the division-leading MPS Portand Phoenix (6-2-3, 21). They travel to the Collins-Perley Soccer Complex next Saturday to face the host Vermont Voltage.
Western Mass, at 5-4-2 with 17 points, is in third place and host the Voltage this Wednesday at Lusitano Stadium.
