Toronto FC Signs Defender Eddy Viator

In the latest tweaking of the roster at Major League Soccer's Toronto FC, the franchise Wednesday signed Guadeloupean defender Eddy Viator after he trained for them for the last week.

Born in Colombes, France, he began his professional soccer career with six seasons at LB Chateauroux in France's Ligue 2, then moved on to Grenade and Amiens SC.

Viator has appeared in 11 games for his country's national team, including appearing in all three group stage matches at the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

He could begin with Toronto FC as early as Wednesday's match against FC Dallas.
