Major League Soccer's Portland Timbers announced Monday defender Kevin Goldthwaite will miss the remainder of the 2011 season due to upcoming surgery to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and a damaged medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
He suffered the injuries in Saturday's 1-0 victory over the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL.
