Brandon Swartzendruber scored goals in the 12th and 77th minute off assists by Nolan Intermoia and Anthony Putrus as the host Thunder Bay Chill took the lead in the USL Premier Development League's Central Conference - Heartland Division with a 3-0 shutout of expansion WSA Winnipeg at Chapples Park in Thunder Bay, Ontario Tuesday.
Putrus also tallied a goal in the 89th minute off Cody Shelton.
Both teams will meet again Wednesday night.
Thunder Bay is 10-2-1 with 31 points and WSA Winnipeg is in sixth place in the division at 3-11-1 with 10 points.
