Stewart Goal Ends Winless Streak For Highlanders

Nicole Stewart scored the first game-winning goal of the Victoria Highlanders' USL W-League season Wednesday off a Nellana Kurylo assist in the 84th minute of a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Force at Victoria's Bear Mountain Stadium to snap a 12-game winless streak this season.

Liz Hansen had two goals for Victoria off a Kurylo assist in the second minute and via a penalty kick in the 13th minute.

Rebekah Patrick scored both of Colorado's goals unassisted in the 12th and 32nd minute.

Victoria still is in the cellar of the Western Confence standings at 1-10-2 with five points and will next face the Seattle Sounders at Whatcomm Community College Friday.

The Force, 3-8-1 with 10 points and in seventh place, travel to Stadium High School to play the Sounders on the league's final regular season matchday Sunday.
