Major League Soccer's Sporting Kansas City announced Saturday they have acquired Trinidad & Tobago National Team defender Daneil Cyrus on loan from FC Santa Rosa in that country's Pro League.
Cyrus was scouted by the team's technical staff at a combine last December in his country and he played in Kansas City's first four preseason games of 2011 in Arizona.
He joined FC Santa Rosa in March 2010, then was loaned for the next two seasons to the Pro League's Caledonia AIA.
He has played 13 times for the national team since making his debut in May 2010.
SKC is also set to make another major player announcement Sunday at a press conference to be held at Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City, KS prior to a watch party for the final of the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup between the US and Japan.
