Seattle Sounders midfielder Mauro Rosales, who had an assist and scored the game-winning goal in a 4-3 victory over the defending league champion Colorado Rapids Saturday at CenturyLink Field, was named Major League Soccer's Player of the Week Monday for Week 18 of the 2011 season.
He is the third Sounder this season to win the award and the second straight winner after Fredy Montero won the Week 17 honor. Jeff Parke claimed the award in Week 10.
The Sounders have won five of their last six games and are undefeated in a record nine games.
