Sounders Beat Galaxy In LHUSOC Quarterfinal; Host FC Dallas August 30

Nate Jaqua scored a fourth minute goal off Pat Noonan and assisted on Fredy Montero's 25th minute goal as the Seattle Sounders, the defending two-time Lamar Hunt US Open Cup champion, moved one step closer to claiming a threepeat with a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy in an all-Major League Soccer quarterfinal in the 2011 tournament Wednesday at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, WA.

Lamar Neagle scored for the Sounders in the 74th minute off an Alvaro Fernandez assist.

Chris Birchall helped Adam Cristman with Los Angeles' lone goal in the 40th minute.

The Sounders will next face another MLS Western Conference team, FC Dallas, in the tournament semifinals August 30.

Meanwhile, Seattle returns to league play Saturday when they host the defending MLS Cup champion Colorado Rapids Saturday at CenturyLink Field, while the Galaxy host the Columbus Crew next Wednesday at The Home Depot Center.
