Junior Sandoval scored in the seventh minute off Matt Horth and Tyler Ruthven assisted on Ciaran OBrien's 41st minute goal as the Atlanta Silverbacks, in the cellar of the North American Soccer League standings since the league's inaugural season began, upset FC Tampa Bay 2-1 Saturday at Silverbacks Park to end Tampa's four-game unbeaten streak.
Tampa Bay was able to cut the lead to one in the 43rd minute when Mike Ambersley fed a pass to Aaron King.
The Silverbacks, 3-11-3 with 12 points, are now tied for the worst record in the NASL with the Montreal Impact (2-9-6) and will take on the league's best team, the Carolina RailHawks, next Saturday in Atlanta.
FC Tampa Bay is now in fifth place at 5-6-6 with 21 points and hosts FC Edmonton Wednesday at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg.
