Shulman Carries Valkyries To Victory Over Rangers

Danielle Schulman had a brace and Alicia Tirelli added a goal and an assist as the North Jersey Valkyries defeated the host New Jersey Rangers 5-1 Thursday in USL W-League play at Morris Catholic High School.

Arianna Ruela and Julie Lancos had unassisted goals for North Jersey, who are 2-2-2 with eight points and in fifth place in the Eastern Conference's Northeast Division.

The Valkyries will next host the New York Magic July 9 at DePaul Catholic High School.

Maya Hughes had a late goal for the Rangers to prevent a shutout but not to end their winless streak, now at 0-6-1 with a point, worth a spot in last place in the division. They will host the division co-leading Long Island Rough Riders this Sunday.
