San Antonio Scorpions Begin Head Coaching Search

The San Antonio Scorpions, who will debut in the North American Soccer League's 2012 season, announced Tuesday their search for the franchise's inaugural head coach has begun.

Team owner Michael Hitchcock said Tuesday at a press conference he is looking for someone who has had significant playing and coaching experience in the college and pro ranks.

Interested candidates can e-mail resumes to mhitchcock@playbookmanagement.com by August 1.

The Scorpions will play next season at 11,000-seat Heroes Stadium while a new soccer-specific stadium, which could seat between 5,000 and 10,000 fans, will be under construction across the street during the season and will open for the 2013 NASL season.
