Revolution Decline Options On Perovic, Stolica

Major League Soccer's New England Revolution Thursday chose not to exercise options on the contracts of midfielder Marko Perovic and forward Ilija Stolica.

Perovic, voted by fans as the team's 2010 Most Valuable Player, started 28 of 29 games since joining the team in March 2010. He had seven goals and four assists, including a goal and an assist over four games this season.

He underwent season-ending surgery on his left knee June 2 and expected to miss the next six to nine months.

Stolica started 13 of 16 games since signing in July 2010 and had four goals and two assists.. On April 29, he was loaned to FC New York of USL PRO.
